The Enigma Behind EnigMama
Welcome to my little corner of the internet where Cuban spiciness meets Canadian friendliness!
Hi, Humans!
My name is Yamy, and I'm the heart and soul behind EnigMama. As an Enigma Mama, I'm a lucky Cuban-Canadian single mom of four amazing children, in the beautiful province of Ontario. I'm in my fabulous mid-40s and happy to be a younger grandmother.
Who am I?
Well, it's quite an enigma (see what I did there?). I'm a proud transplanted Cuban, a fierce mama bear, a budding entrepreneur, and a woman on a mission to make the most of this beautiful, chaotic life.
By day, I'm busy-busy with the demands of growing a new business (my cleaning and handyman business). By night, I'm here, pouring my heart into this EnigMama blog, my new baby, sharing everything from "Los secretos de la Abuela"( my grandmother's secret), Cuban simple recipes to tips on starting an online business (because who doesn't need a side hustle, right?).
My path hasn't always been easy. I've been battling Crohn's disease for over two decades, but like a true Cuban, I've learned to dance with the "rytmo of salsa through the pain. It's taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of a good sense of humor (and always know where is a good bathroom nearby).
When I'm not blogging or tending to business, you might find me:
• Preparing a Cuban feast in my kitchen (get ready for some delicious recipes!)
• Planning my next adventure (because travelling is my therapy)
• Doodling ideas for my next children's book (yes, I'm a writer, too!)
• Trying out a new craft project (I emphasize "trying")
• Dreaming up new ways to help other newcomers thrive in Canada
EnigMama is more than a blog—it's a community. It's a place where we can share our triumphs and struggles, swap stories and advice, and celebrate the beautiful mix of cultures that makes us unique.

As a Cuban-Canadian, a single mom with an all-grown kid, a warrior battling Crohn's disease from a young age, and a new entrepreneur juggling multiple businesses in this chaotic life, I've learned that life is a beautiful, complex puzzle and I will like to share my pieces of pie with you dancing at the "Ritmo de Salsa" in my new blogging world.
